GCA's Online Chess Tournament: A Digital Showdown!

What’s better than Sunday afternoons spent with friends over the checkered board online in this Era and fast paced world. That’s what happened this Sunday on 31st August 2025 when Genesis Chess Academy hosted a super exciting Online Chess Tournament on Chess.com exclusively for it’s students. The tournament started at 4:00 pm and every student was ready to showcase their Chess skills and apply their strategies. The vibe was something else in itself even though every one was far away from each other. Every participant got a chance to play six rapid games and time format was 10 minutes with no increments.

The Best of The Best

While it was a big deal for such young chess enthusiasts just to take that initiative and challenge themselves to participate in an open category tournament, Our fantastic student Muhammad Ibrahim Zeeshan secured the first position in the tournament. Not far behind was Abdul Haadi, who played incredibly well to earn second position , and Raayaan Saqib, who rounded out the top three. We also saw some incredible rising stars! Afra Ali was named the best Under 14 performer, and Mahrez Fayyaz was our standout Under 10 player. It's so inspiring to see such young talent shine at such a young age.

A Celebration of Chess

The best part of the Tournament was to see everyone’s hard work being paid off. The game wasn’t just about winning or losing; It was about the true joy of the game. The tournament was a true example of how strong the GCA community is even online. A big Congratulations to everyone who participated.
