GCA Representatives Shine At IBA RCT2026

On April 25th '2026, a Rapid  Chess event was hosted by IBA University Main Campus which was organized by the Chess Federation of Pakistan and the Karachi Chess Academy ( KCA ). The tournament featured an Open Category and contenders competed in 7 Rounds with a Time Format of 15 + 30 seconds increment ( Rapid Format ). With a Prize Pool of 30k, the event was excellently managed by Organizer Aijaz Samma and Hassan Tariq Athar.

Notable GCA Performance Highlights

GCA Participants delivered commendable Performances during the event.

Sir Tayyab secured 3rd Position in the event with an impressive  score of 5.5 Points by defeating several Chess Masters.  winning 5 Rounds, and the only draw against Raid Jaffri in Round 5th. His run included  victories ( against Hayat Shawaiz, Mohsin Ali, Efhaam Ahsan, Aneeq Akhtar, and Muhammad Imtiaz Ul Haq ).

Fellow trainer Efhaam Ahsan finished the event with 4 Points achieving 4 solid wins in the tournament against Muhammad Uzair, Shoaib Muhammad Hadi, Hayati Miqdad Yusuf, and Eibaad Ahmed Malik. 

Among the Students ACM Mahrez Fayyaz also showcased great resilience and secured 4 Points with a Finishing Rank of 34 in the Event with remarkable victories in 4 Rounds against Muhammad Maaz Shakir, Khan Muhammad Uzair, Khan Muhammad Umair, and Muhammad Anas. 

The tournament began early at 9:30 AM and showcased competitive spirit and strong performances from GCA representatives against top players across the city.
